The NHL and Adidas had already announced that they wouldn't be renewing their deal for the league's supply of official jerseys.

Bettman and his team had therefore been on the lookout for a new partner and it seems they have found one.

«Fanatics will replace Adidas as the NHL's outfitter of on-ice uniforms and authentic jerseys, beginning with the 2024-25 season on a 10-year deal.

This marks the 1st time @Fanatics branding will be directly on an official player uniform for a pro sports property. @NHL''

Fanatics and the NHL were already in business together since over the past two decades, Fanatics had evolved to include NHL e-commerce and retail operations, fan apparel and headwear, replica jerseys, licensed memorabilia, performance and training products, on-ice Stanley Cup Champions apparel and headwear, and now official on-ice uniforms and authentic jerseys sold at retail.

Obviously, it caused major distress in the NHL fanbase since Fanatics have been known to produce subpar quality product for gigantic prices. Time will tell whether or not this was the right move, but at this point in time, it doesn't look good on the League.
