Jim Rutherford was harshly criticized for the job he's done and the way the management group treated Bruce Boudreau since the beginning of the season. Many believe that Boudreau was never given a fair chance since he never had the much needed defensive upgrade to make something out of this group.
Frank Seravalli was on Halford and Brough today and made quite the revelation when he indicated why the coaching change hasn't occurred yet.
Aquillini will have three coaches on his payroll when they make the announcement since Travis Green's contract has yet to expire. From the information that was gathered on the subject, Boudreau most likely has a clause on his contract that makes it more expensive to let him go before a certain date. Which would explain the ownership group withholding the process.
Insiders had already stated that they believed Rutherford and Allvin were going to make a coaching change during the summer, but ownership always stood in the way of it, mainly for financial reasons.
Jason Brough also revealed that from the information he has gathered, the coaching change is set to take place on Monday. Canucks are playing back-to-back games at home on Friday and Saturday against the Avalanche and the Oilers respectively.
With this new information coming out, does Rutherford still deserve as much of the heat? Or should Aquillini receive his fair share as well?
