Setting themselves up for yet another retool, the Canucks being out of the playoff portrait, they're expected to head-on to the trade deadline as sellers.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a completely different position.
They seem to have fixed their goaltending issues with Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov, they currently hold the second seed in the Atlantic Division and they desperately need help in the depth department.
Numerous Canucks have already been put on the trade block, Bo Horvat, Brock Boeser, Conor Garland, and former Leaf draft pick, Luke Schenn.
All of these would definitely set the Leafs up for a deep playoff run. It's also been reported that the Leafs had Swedish forward, Nils Hoglander, high on their draft list before the Canucks snatched him.
Kyle Dubas did nothing to slow the rumor mill down since he was spotted in attendance at the Canucks' last game when they played the Blue Jackets.
Normally, GMs only tend to attend games when deals are close and Dubas has scouted the Canucks' on numerous occasions in the last few weeks.
Would the Leafs benefit from adding one of these players? The Maple Leafs have been known to be quite the wizards with the salary cap, wouldn't it help the Canucks to move one of their higher-paid players?
