MAJOR | Frank Seravalli drops bombshell regarding Tyler Myers and the Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks opened up plenty of cap space a couple of weeks ago when buying out the contract of defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and now it appears that they may be trying to free up some more salary.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Vancouver Canucks reportedly have had a trade in place that would send defenceman Tyler Myers to the San Jose Sharks.
Seravalli added that he's unsure if the deal will get done with the Sharks in over the next little while or what the hold up is, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on as we head into free agency on the weekend.
Myers, 33, has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $6 million and a modified no-trade clause with a ten-team no-trade list. He appeared in 78 games for Vancouver this season, putting up 17 points (one goal, 16 assists), 76 penalty minutes and was a minus-16.
