It was sadly announced today that former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Pete Conacher has tragically passed away at the age of 92.

It seems like there are more and more passings in the news these days but the hockey world has lost another NHLer as Toronto Native and former Maple Leaf Pete Conacher has passed.

Maple Leafs commentator Joe Bowen showcased his dear friendship with Conacher on X (formally Twitter) with a beautiful sentiment:

''So very sad to learn this day that we have lost Pete Conacher. The former Leaf,Black Hawk and Ranger, won the 1959 World Hockey Championship with the Belleville McFarlands. A wonderful man who gave so freely of his time for good causes will be sorely missed. RIP my friend!!!''

The Toronto Maple Leafs organization also took to social media to pay their tribute with a heartfelt message.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Leafs alumnus Pete Conacher.

Pete, the son of Charlie Conacher, played 229 games in the NHL and was also a former President of the Ontario chapter of Special Olympics Canada. Our thoughts and condolences are with his friends and family at this time.

Pete Conacher is best known for his time in Toronto. Although he did not have the most glamorous or legendary career as he accumulated 86 points in 229 career games, the beautiful part about our game and community is that we stand in solidarity with one another when apart of the alumni passes.

He also spent time with the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers.

Everyone here at Canucks Daily want to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire Maple Leafs and Conacher family during this sad time.

Rest In Peace.
