The Vancouver Canucks wrapped up a quick two-game homestand on Tuesday night with a big 3-0 win over Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche and are now tied with the Calgary Flames for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

Patrik Allvin has announced a number of roster moves in recent days, primarily relating to salary cap accrual reasons, but on Wednesday, it looks like the club is making a change that'll help with their center depth.

Vancouver Canucks announce roster move involving Nils Aman

On Wednesday morning, Jeff Paterson of Canucks Army posted on X saying that Swedish forward Nils Aman has appeared on the NHL roster, while Linus Karlsson is no longer on it, signaling that he's been assigned to Abbotsford of the American Hockey League.
"Nils Aman showing on #Canucks #NHL roster this morning. Linus Karlsson is not." Jeff Paterson said.
Aman, 24, has spent the majority of his time this season in the American Hockey League after being with the Vancouver Canucks for a good chunk of the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
In five appearances for Vancouver this season, Aman has registered two assists, while in 32 AHL games with Abbotsford, the Avesta, Sweden native has 28 points (seven goals, 21 assists).
The move to call up Nils Aman from the American Hockey League will give Rick Tocchet some more center depth to work with and could even allow someone like Pius Suter or Teddy Blueger to move to the wing, even just temporarily.
As for Linus Karlsson, he's appeared in nine games this season with Vancouver, including seven on this most recent call-up and he even managed to score his first career NHL goal on January 29th against the Nashville Predators.
The Vancouver Canucks will be back in action on Thursday night when they head down to Northern California to take on the San Jose Sharks, with puck drop set for just after 7:30 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
