Vancouver Canucks Shake Up Lines Big Time for Matchup Against Montreal Canadiens
The Vancouver Canucks are embarking on their 5-game road trip where they will be kicking it off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight.
Even though the Vancouver Canucks announced that Elias Pettersson and captain Quinn Hughes is with the team for their road trip and were even spotted participating in their first practice on Sunday, Rick Tocchet revealed that Hughes will be a game time decision.
He added that Elias Pettersson although close to returning as well, will not be available for tonight's matchup in Montreal.
"Game-time on Quinn; I don't think Petey's going to play tonight," said Tocchet. "He's still skating right now, I'll talk to him again. But Hughes is a possibility."
Vancouver Canucks Projected Lineup Against the Montreal Canadiens
Without both Hughes and Pettersson, the Canucks have now lost three of their four games since returning from the holiday break.
They clearly missed Hughes, as the remaining defensemen struggled to consistently transition the puck up ice to create offence. Getting him back is a game-changer for the Canucks.
Keep in mind, that these are the lines there were seen in practice, which is highly indicative that this will be the group Rick Tocchet is rolling with come game time.

With Thatcher Demko down with an injury (Back Spasms), it will be obvious that they elect to put Lankinen back in net to try and kick off the road trip on the right foot.
