Connor McDavid has been a standout since the Edmonton Oilers drafted him in 2015. In the latest years, he never failed to point out details that weren't to his pleasing and this weekend was no different.
McDavid took advantage of the media attention he was getting and voiced his opinion regarding how games come to a settlement in-season.
He stated that he'd like for the NHL to completely eliminate the skills competition that is the shootouts (even though he's definitely one of the most skilled players) and opened the possibility of having a 10-minute 3-on-3 overtime period instead.
"No one loves the shootout. It's a crappy way to finish the game."
The IIHF most recently made the switch in all of its international competitions and perhaps it is time the NHL consider making that rule change as well?
