LATEST | Craig Button releases an updated draft list with shocking surprises
The Canucks will be the 11th team to step on stage which opens up a ton of possibilities for the team.
Many different lists have appeared throughout the year and in the latest reports Axel Sandin Pellikka, Dalibor Dvorsky, and Brayden Yager were seen as targets for the Canucks.
TSN's head of scouting Craig Button released a new list after the U18 tournament and it's causing a major stir. He now has Sandin Pellikka at no. 5, Dvorsky at 9, and the big Matthew Wood at 11 for the Canucks to pick. Ahead of Ryan Leonard (12th), Zach Benson (14th), or even Brayden Yager (18th).
Wood surely represents an intriguing prospect. 6'3'' and 190 pounds, a big right-handed shot centerman who scored 85 points in 46 BCHL games in 2021-2022, and showed no signs of slowing down at the NCAA where he had 34 points in 35 outings.
The Lethbridge, AB native is a prospect full of potential and surely fits into what the Canucks are looking to add. Size, skill, centerman, is he what the Canucks need at the 11th pick?
