LATEST | Ethan Bear suffers the worst: Part of his dream taken away
At the end of his NHL season, it was confirmed that Ethan Bear Bear had accepted an invitation to take part in the Men's World Championship in Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia.
Bear was given the opportunity to represent the Nation for the first time since 2015 when he played at the U18s. In yesterday's game, the defenseman suffered an injury during the game against Finland and left the game immediately:
There's been no update so far on his case, but Team Canada's lineup for the semis is out and Bear isn't on it. The tournament is coming to an end and Bear may have played his last game.
The right-handed defenseman remains an RFA for next season since he has not yet signed an extension. His qualifying offer stands at $2.2M, the reports state that the talks between the two parties have been low, it would be expected that they'd heat up once Bear is back on Canadian soil.
