The National Hockey League's regular season is winding down and with only three days remaining, we're starting to finally know which teams will have the best odds at getting the first overall pick in next month's draft lottery. But is it possible that the lottery could be rigged to help an American-based team?

It's hard to fathom that a professional sports league such as the NHL would want to rig the draft lottery, but with how hard they're trying to keep the Coyotes in Arizona, it wouldn't be shocking to see their logo be held up on May 8th as team who will select first overall in June.

Popular Twitter user, JFresh, who is known for their analytic posts about players around the league, posed the question to their fans: 'Here's a question - do you think the NHL will rig the 2023 draft lottery to send Bedard to a preferred (by Bettman) team?'.

Surprisingly, the results of the poll were very close. 43.6% of the voters said the NHL would rig the lottery, 45% said no, while 11.4% opted to just see the results of the poll.

We're very curious to see how our fans feel about this, so we've posed the same question to you guys. Do you think that the draft lottery will be rigged to favour an American-based team, such as the Arizona Coyotes? Let us know what you think!
