Aidan McDonough had a second opportunity last night to prove his worth in Vancouver against the Flames. The team ended up losing in overtime, but through only 6 minutes and 37 seconds of ice time, the rookie winger managed to score his first NHL goal.

McDonough had managed 45 goals over his last 72 collegiate hockey games and not that is graduated to professional, but it appears he has taken his scoring ability with him registering his first NHL goal. The play developed down low and off a feed from Jack Studnicka and Sheldon Dries, McDonough was able to find the sweet spot to register his first career tally:

McDonough has now taken part in 2 NHL games during which he spent a total of 16 minutes and 40 seconds on the ice, since the team's priority is now aimed toward development, perhaps it's time they consider giving him more ice time and better opportunities.

Tocchet noted on multiple occasions that McDonough had a heck of a shot, maybe it's time they slot him with offensive-minded linemates? If we truly want to see the extent of his talent, wouldn't be better if he was placed on J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser's left? At this point, results are irrelevant would it be more beneficial for the team in the long-term if he took Di Giuseppe's place on the second line?
