After losing back-to-back games for the first time since the middle of October, the Vancouver Canucks have bounced back, winning the final two games of their road trip in overtime in Washington, followed up by a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Their last two games have looked much like the Vancouver Canucks we've seen all season long, and it's earning them a jump in the most recent NHL power rankings list from CBS Sports.

In a post on their website, CBS Sports shared that the Vancouver Canucks have overtaken the Edmonton Oilers and now lead their National Hockey League power rankings.

"In his debut with the Canucks, Elias Lindholm scored a pair of goals, which is only fitting how well everything has worked out for them this season. Vancouver is making all the right moves, and it might not be done with the NHL trade deadline in just a few weeks. We'll see how GM Patrick Allvin approaches that situation with the Canucks vying for the Presidents' Trophy." CBS Sports said.

There's still a long way to go in the regular season. Still, the Vancouver Canucks are on the right track. They will need to continue to play with consistency and have their top guys producing if they want to get the top seed in not just the Pacific Division and the Western Hockey League but also the entire National Hockey League because that will give them a home-ice advantage for a potential Stanley Cup Final in June.

The Canucks will be back in action on Thursday night as they return to Rogers Arena, where they'll take on the Detroit Red Wings. The puck drop is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.
