NHL Insider Has Inside Scoop on The Vancouver Canucks Decision to Trade Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller
Vancouver Canucks are still dealing with the issues surrounding the feud and issues with team mates J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, but NHL insider Elliotte Friedman gives his take on what he think the outcome will be.
The Vancouver Canucks have been at the center of NHL tabloids, but for all the wrong reasons.
It is well documented that J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson are not the best of friends and are not shy to make it known, like at the start of the year when the two got into a heated altercation and practice.
It is one thing if the two were playing well, but Pettersson and Miller have struggled to produce ever since Millsy came back from his leave of absence.
Even head coach Rick Tocchet and captain Quinn Hughes commented on the riff, basically confirming that the two do not like each other. It is one think
Now, rumors are swirling that lead to believe that one of the two will get traded if there differences to not get settled.
Elliotte Friedman stated that he does not think that Vancouver Canucks will trade wither of the star forwards.
And I think that with Pettersson, their, their choice, we all know now, last year that they could have traded him, and they didn't. And they gave him a lot of money. And so that says to me, by action, that the Vancouver Canucks believe they are a better team with both of those players. They are both on Four Nations rosters. They are both excellent players.
It is very hard to win a trade with either one of them, and I think the Canucks, their preference is to keep them both and try to win with them both. And last year, they showed that when everybody was pulling in the same direction, they were a formidable team. It took the Oilers, who went to game seven of the Stanley Cup Final, every ounce of their power to beat Vancouver in the second round.
Whether or not Friedman is right, the main priority is for the Canucks to figure what the best course of action is to settle the beef between Pettersson and Miller.
