With the Vancouver Canucks and Patrik Allvin looking to land a forward to upgrade their offence
, NHL insider Patrick Johnson has predicted that Yanni Gourde will end up with the Canucks via trade.

Through 34 games this season, the Vancouver Canucks are not living up to the expectations coming into the year.

By winning the Pacific Division last season, and Rick Tocchet winning the Jack Adams for the NHL's top head coach, it was expected that the Canucks would take that next step and compete for a Stanley Cup, but clearly the season has not gone according to plan.

The Canucks entered the Christmas break sitting in a playoff spot, at seventh place in the Western Conference. On the other hand they've been struggling for positive results of late, with only four wins in their past 11 games.

The Canucks are loaded up front with superstars, but whether it has to do with injuries, leaves of absences, or just not executing, Vancouver is lookin for answers to help their offense.

Seattle Kraken's Yanni Gourde heading to the Vancouver Canucks at the trade deadline?

The Athletics NHL insiders Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun discussed who they see being deal at the trade deadline, and the top name that has been linked to the Vancouver Canucks is Seattle Kraken's Yanni Gourde.

According to Chris Johnston, the Athletic is predicting where top targets go by the deadline and one of the destinations for Yanni Gourde is Vancouver. He would arguably slot more seamlessly into the Canucks' lineup as a third-line center.

Johnston makes a good point about Gourde, stating that he would be a perfect fit on the Canucks 3rd line,,, but also has the ability to be versatile and play in the top-6 if Vancouver runs into injury troubles once again.

Gourde is just over a 0.5 points per game player ever since he got the opportunity as a full time top-6 forward. This season is on a similar pace, scoring 15 points in 32 games.
