Former Vancouver Canucks star Pavel Bure has called out the team's management group for their handling of the feud between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller this season before trading the latter to New York.

While things are turning around for the Vancouver Canucks on the ice, off the ice the team has dealt with quite a bit of drama, primarily due to a reported feud between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, which the team took quite a while to address.

Pavel Bure calls out management over handling of Elias Pettersson-J.T. Miller feud

Just over two weeks ago, the Vancouver Canucks ended that feud by trading J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers for a package that included Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini and a 2025 first-round pick, which was flipped to Pittsburgh in the Marcus Pettersson deal.
The drama surrounding the Vancouver Canucks, J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson was followed closely by those around the National Hockey League and even former members of the organization, like Pavel Bure.
In a recent interview with Sergey Demidov of RG.org, Pavel Bure called out the Vancouver Canucks' management group for how they handled the situation with J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, saying that it should have been dealt with much sooner than it was.
"If you've got a talented player who doesn't fit into the team, that's a failure of management," Bure said. "If it gets to the point where you have to trade him, something has already gone wrong."

Pavel Bure knows exactly what drama in Vancouver feels like after a rocky ending to his tenure as a Canuck due to a contract dispute with management and ultimately, he was dealt to the Florida Panthers in January 1999.
Nearly 15 years later, the two sides reconciled and Pavel Bure's number 10 was raised to the rafters at Rogers Arena in November 2013.
With J.T. Miller now a member of the New York Rangers and the feud in the past, the Vancouver Canucks are hoping Elias Pettersson can move forward and get back to being the player he was two years ago.
