WOW | Quinn Hughes calls out his detractors and his answer's perfect
Quinn Hughes has developed into a record-breaking offensive defenseman and it surely has been satisfying to see him develop into the player he is today.
Yet, Hughes had not always been known for his defensive abilities and his responsible play. However, he really took his game as a whole to a new level this year and it's showing. Not only is he amongst leaders in points for defenseman, but his game managing alone with his defending abilities have really improved.
Thomas Drance of the Athletic, reported the following statement from Hughes when he was asked about it:
«Anyone who says I'm a defensive liability, frankly, hasn't watched the games,»
Obviously, having the puck on your stick helps the statistics part of the game, but puck management is surely a determining skill. Hughes is breaking record and this kind of comment clearly show what kind of confidence he has.
Hughes has grown into a leadership in that locker room and it's starting to show. If he displays that kind of confidence, it's only a matter of time before it reflects on everyone!
