Elias Pettersson's Time With Vancouver Canucks Reportedly Coming to An End Amid 'Serious' Trade Talks
With all of the drama surrounding Vancouver Canucks superstars Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, a recent report by TSN's Patrick Johnston claims Pettersson may be the one to go after "serious" trade talks.
The Vancouver Canucks have been the NHL's soap opera all season long for teams and media to repeatedly comment on.
Now that the year has changed, the narratives and issues surrounding the team have not let up, and this time Elias Pettersson's future with the team could be coming to an end.
Insider Report Claims Elias Pettersson's Time in Vancouver Could Be Over
TSN's Patrick Johnston reports that there has been confirmation that the Vancouver Canucks are openly talking with teams about both J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, but states EP40 has emerged as the serious trade target.
«When it comes to Pettersson in particular, it seems as though the Canucks are serious about moving him,» Johnston said. «Multiple teams believe to have shown interest.»
The reality is that the Canucks do not want to have to move on from either of the forwards, and the fact that there are actual "serious" conversation taking place about moving Pettersson is means the rift is not going to be settled anytime soon.
Amid all the distractions and trade talk, Elias Pettersson is just focused on playing hockey and winning games with his current team, states he needs to start meeting expectations and cannot control all the outside noise.
"But then it's like, can I control it? No," Pettersson said. "So that's where I'm at. I'm trying not to think about it. But I'm sure it will go away if I play better and if we win."
