The Maple Leafs have had their fair share of issues with injuries since the season started. While they are working to break the first round in the playoffs curse, a bad news just came in.
In an official statement coming from the Maple Leafs, they've just announced that Auston Matthews would be out for a little while.
"Injury update: Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews will be out of the lineup for a minimum of three weeks due to a knee sprain suffered in Wednesday's game vs. NYR."
The news has gone around the league quite fast. The Maple Leafs top centerman has been on a good streak lately, with 25 goals and 53 points through 47 games this season.
Matthews was set to represent the Leafs at the upcoming All-Star break next weekend. Matthews will obviously be taking a break from the festivities and Aleksander Barkov will replace him for the occasion.
